Broward Legislative Delegation Meets To Discuss School Safety Post Parkland

The Broward legislative delegation meeting with officials from the Broward League of Cities and school district to discuss who's footing the bill for school safety measures required by the MSD Public Safety Commission. State Representative Shevrin Jones,Chair of the Broward Delegation, says some cities that don't have schools in their district are crying foul over the fees. He says if they can't hammer out an agreement, they will have to go to the governor during the Legislative session beginning next week to ask for extra funding. State law requires a police officer or armed guard on every public school campus, increased surveillance, school safety assessments and mental health disclosures.
