Secret Service: Former Marine Lies His Way Through Security At PBIA

A former U.S. service member faces charges for lying his way through security checkpoints at Palm Beach International Airport on Sunday, as President Trump was heading back to Washington.

Federal officials say Brandon Mark Magnan falsely personified an officer in the U.S. military, identifying himself twice as a "law enforcement officer of the United States Marine Corps to Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputies, even presenting counterfeit credentials.

Eventually, a deputy noticed he Magnan was not in the proper attire.

The Secret Service determined the man had been dishonorably discharged from the Marine Corps in 2010 after a conviction at Court Martial.

He appeared before a judge on Monday and is out of jail on $100,000 bond, but prohibited from attending any political rallies where an individual is protected by the Secret Service and must stay at least one mile away from PBIA.

Magnan will be back in federal court later this month.
